Lanka-e-News 02.Mar.2010 9.45AM) Former Chief Justice (CJ) Sarath N Silva stated that under section 126 of the Sri Lanka’s constitution, the cornerstone of all laws , a fundamental rights (FR) case shall be concluded within two months of its date of filing in the Supreme Court.

The CJ said this at the ceremony held yesteday (01) at the UNF Office at Rajakeeya Mawatha to launch the e mail campaign collecting signatures for the release of Gen. Fonseka open the website .

The former CJ went further and said ,we filed a FR petition at the Supreme Court for the release of Gen. Fonseka . I also played a fundamental role in that.. This petition has been postponed until the 26th of April after the date of the General elections
